The juried exhibition “FLAGS” is on display at the Glen Arbor Arts Center in Glen Arbor, and I’m pleased to have my print “Finding Your Way” in the exhibition. I visited the art center recently to see the exhibit. It’s an interesting collection of art. The pieces range from fiber and assemblage to prints and paintings. The theme, ‘flags,’ provided for a wide interpretation, regardless of the medium, and the exhibit reflects many different points of view on the subject.
The exhibitions at the Glen Arbor Art Center never disappoint. The gallery is a lovely space to exhibit in and I’m pleased whenever I have my work there. Plus, there’s always something interesting going on in the way of exhibits and events. The gallery, both inside and out, are utilized for art, either viewing or making. The center offers classes, lectures, workshops, music, theater and more. It’s truly a community of people looking to forward the arts and culture in the state of Michigan. Certainly impressive.
But it’s not just the exhibition or the location of the Arts Center, a block from Lake Michigan, that makes it worth the visit. There are a lot of art galleries, interesting shops and good food to be found in Glen Arbor. I rarely miss a visit to this lovely town when I’m up north and always pleased when I can exhibit there.
