In 2022 I had work accepted into 11 juried exhibitions and received several awards. This is the kind of thing that I dreamed about long ago when all I wanted to do was create. Now that I have time to devote to art, exhibit and share my work, I’m realizing that dream.
When I started entering juried exhibits with my prints, I knew there were a few to set my sights on. The MI Artists All-State Juried Exhibit in Bay City was one of them. This is a competitive exhibit in Michigan, and it’s respected by artists throughout the state.
This year, there were 60 pieces of artwork on display, representing a wide array of mediums, styles, and techniques. There were paintings, drawings, prints, ceramics and sculpture. The styles of art ranged from abstraction to realism. It was an interesting show as it was “a visual journey across the artistic landscape of creative expression in our state.”
Studio 23 in Bay City is an impressive gallery. The space is beautiful, and they always have exhibits on display. There are a number of excellent restaurants downtown and the Bay City State Park is a short drive north. It’s a nice way to spend the day, and I hope to exhibit there again.
