I was an ArtPrize artist again this year! Atwater Brewery Grand Rapids invited me to exhibit my work for ArtPrize 2022 and it was an excellent venue to deal with. The manager was helpful and sincere in his wish to find the best location for my print in the pub. Together, we made the plans and when I arrived to hang, everything was ready.
My husband came along to help and did most of the work himself. He decided how to display the print along with the woodblocks. Then he hung it all. I stood by to hand him measuring tape, hammer, nails and of course, beer. In the end, it looked great.
There’s so much to do and see at ArtPrize. I’ve been going for years, never dreaming I would be an exhibiting artist. It adds a different perspective to the event when you’ve got something hanging. We went as a family and got to see a lot, but seeing it all is a huge undertaking and impossible to do in one day. Still, no matter how much you see, it’s a fun and unique way to expose yourself to the visual arts and definitely worth the trip.
I want to thank Atwater Brewery Grand Rapids for being such a welcoming and helpful venue. It was a pleasure working with them and a lot of fun to exhibit in that space.
